[Bridal Beauty on a Budget]

BRIDES!!When it comes to beauty services for your wedding and you find yourself asking "is a makeup artist in my budget?" Here are some ideas for brides to get creative to get professional makeup done, rather than resign to “I guess I’ll just do it myself...”,or  “I’ll get my friend to help me...”  or “I’ll just go to a mall counter and buy a product and they’ll do it for free.”
NO! There are different ways
Read on my little Bride to be........

For your wedding day YOU want to put your best face forward, YOU want to ensure that your makeup is :

  • Flawless, Clean and perfected Long Lasting and Fade-proof .
  • Face is not shiny by the time you get to the reception
  • Picture perfect, Where your face will not show up oily or messy looking.
  • Be appropriate for a wedding and classic enough that you will be proud to display your photos 5, 10 and 20 years from now.
  • You want to ensure that your bridal party has a consistent, look so you don’t have the whole range from natural to inappropriately overdone as everyone is lined up next to you - at the wedding and in your pictures.

[Cosmetic Counters at the Mall]
Realize that most cosmetics counter people are sales staff with limited training on their particular brand’s products, and have absolutely no makeup training that deals with photography, long-lasting products, corrective makeup, and many other important aspects of makeup artistry that are relevant to brides.

[Recruiting your BF or MOH to be your MUA]
your friend who offered to help may do a great job on herself, but does she know the optimal color placement for other eye shapes, face shapes, and coloring?  Besides, she may be running late because she is also getting herself ready, and she will probably get very nervous at the last hour trying to get you ready in time for the ceremony.  Don’t take any chances with your look on your wedding day; there will not be a chance to fix it if something goes wrong.

If budget is the issue, here are some ideas for saving:

Ask for wedding day makeup as a gift!
When good friends or close family members ask where you are registered, say “Well, we’re registered at so-and-so-and-so, but what I REALLY want is to get makeup done for all of us...” and explain why it’s important to you..  What better gift to give you than something that will make your wedding day easy and stress-free and will live in the wedding photos forever!

[Subsidize the bridesmaids]
If you cannot pay for your entire wedding party yet you would like a uniform look, you may consider subsidizing them.  Paying some money toward each person’s services and only ask them to get their makeup done for $40 or $50, and you are likely to get agreement and even excitement.  It won’t break your bank, but you are ensured that nobody will arrive to the ceremony looking undone, or with a mall makeover that upstages everyone else.
I hope some of these ideas help!
xoxo

[Bride.Beauty]

Eyes are always a beauty focus . Whether they're soft and fresh or strongly shaded aka the smoky eye! Well shaped brows and lush lashes create a full on fringe for rocking the bridal runway.

 [Beautiful.Brows]

Start with a great shape. Three steps to the perfect arch.

  1. Take an eyeliner pencil and place it vertically against the side of your nose. Your brows should begin where the tip meets the brow.
  2. Move the pencil so that it hits the middle of the mouth and the outer edge of the pupil. The pencil and brow meet at your brow's arch.
  3.  Place the pencil against your nostril and move it so that the tip hits the outer corner of your eye, this is where the brow should end.

[Lush.Lash]

False lashes A full lash strip adds density to the entire lash line. It opens up your eyes and it looks fabulous in pictures. My faves are MAC #7, #3 and #36. Red Cherry 601 and 501
Individual lashes
are for the bride that doesn't want the commitment of a full lash strip, they're great for adding a little flare to the eye. For filling in sparse lashes and they look the most natural.

Lash Extensions  These semi permanent, synthetic lashes are glued on individually to your lashes and they last about 6 weeks. It takes  2 hours to apply but it is so worth it, imagine waking up hot, with big beautiful lashes and not having to apply makeup on your honeymoon.

[mascara]

If you want to have full and long lashes by using mascara only, than you must try these mascaras:

  • Diorshow by Christian Dior
  • Fatale by Lancome
  • Zoom Lash by MAC
  • Plush Lash by MAC
You also should have a Shu Uemura Lash curler. This little tool curls each lash perfectly.

[Trial Makeup.Session]

  • Bring pictures from magazines to show what makeup looks appeal to you.
  • Please let the artist know if you are allergic to any dyes or particular eyeshadow colors.
  • Communication is Key!  For both makeup artist and Bride-to-be!
  • Makeup can only do so much, the better the skin the better the makeup will look.
  • Be prepared!, bring tear sheets, camera or video camera, wear a white/ivory top
  • It's best to start any skin care treatments or facials 6-8 weeks before the wedding to achieve maximum results.

**Please remember celebrity makeup tear-sheets can be used as "inspiration" for your makeup. Everyone has unique features and makeup won't always look the same as the model, celebrity etc. I will tailor the look that will suit you the best and bring out your best and beautiful features. Beauty begins on the inside and when you love yourself you radiate that to the world.

[Bridal Beauty. Countdown]

Makeup can only do so much, the better the skin the better the makeup will look.

[AIR BRUSH]

Oooh it's so flawless......

However, skin must be prepped before receiving an airbrush application, Please follow these tips in order to ensure the your skin is in optimal condition.

  • A week before the airbrush application give yourself a facial or book one with your local spa.
  • Exfoliate the night before with a gentle exfoliater. This is a must if you have flaky, textured skin the foundation won't lay right.
  • The night before Moisturize your face with a emollient moisturizer.
  • Day of, Don't use a cream or gel that contains benzoyl peroxide or salisylic acid.
  • If you are waxing, please wax at least 2 days before.

[Lip Care]

It's super important to keep lips well moisturized and kissable! Here are a few of my personal tips.

If your lips are flaky and dry

Take vaseline and slather on your lips then with a toothbrush  gently massage it on the lips and then wipe with a tissue.

Follow up with a lip balm.

Remember put lip balm on 2x a day, morning and night .

Some good ones are Rosebud Salve found at sephora

Burt's Bees found anywhere

[Six to eight weeks before the wedding]
  • Book regular manicures, pedicures and facials. Discuss any specific skin-care needs - such as acne, sensitive skin, etc. - with your aesthetician and begin to address any problems.
  • Now is the time to begin more aggressive exfoliation - with an exfoliating cream or home micro-dermabrasion or peel kit, or visit your skin-care specialist.
  • Stay out of the sun and begin looking for tanning alternatives, such as self-tanning lotions for face and body. Spray Tans are beautiful.
  •  Keep working out (or start); exercise relieves stress and improves skin tone.

[Four weeks before]
  • Book a trial makeup session with your makeup artist. Wear your usual makeup to the session so she'll get an idea of your everyday look.
  •  Bring pictures from magazines to show what looks appeal to you.
  • Alert her to any sensitivity or allergies to makeup.
  • Stress tends to decrease natural radiance.
  • Some brides find that starting weekly massages at this point helps settle wedding jitters down the line.

[Two weeks before]

  • See your dentist for regular cleaning, and possibly a bleaching session.
  • Have a facial
  •  touch up your hair color.

[Right before the wedding]

  • Confirm all makeup, hair and nail appointments for yourself and your bridesmaids.
  • If you want to tan, get a spray tan.
  • Resist the urge to try any new skin-care or makeup products, especially if you have sensitive skin. Stress may make your skin more reactive to ingredients or treatments it hasn't encountered before.
